Tessa always remains positive in any situation, and even on difficult days, never fails to boost morale and make everyone smile, staff and residents. Tessa consistently has the most positive attitude of anyone I have known, it uplifts the residents visibly, and her optimism is contagious.
Outwood is very lucky to have her!
Jeff is a very hard working Manager and recently has organised a children’s in need fundraising which involved service users. The programme was very interactive to many of the staff and service users and it was such fun at the same time raised a lot of money for the good cause.
Well done and keep the good work.
Georgia goes above and beyond for our residents, often taking the job home with her. She’s a dab hand on the sewing machine and will take up residents clothing so that they have a better fit. To top it all off she’s and all rounder, with a caring and positive attitude towards everyone that she works with and supports. She’s ace!
Fatimoh has been fantastic when giving emotional comfort and support to a college who was having a difficult time. It was heart warming to see her go above to support her colleague in a humanly way, giving up her own time to help someone who was going through a difficult and personal experience.
Ella has not long joined our team on LW but she has adapted phenomenally, learning BSL sign language in such short time. Our service users trust and approach Ella with the mindset Ella will support them, go above leaps and beyond whilst displaying a happy attitude. Keep up the hard work Ella you are brilliant!
Dickson has shown enormous support and care managing and leading his team through the challenges with the shortage of nurses. Dickson rises above any obstacle that may come his way with his humour, strengths, and willingness to carry out good working practices. Its a pleasure to work alongside him and learn how he manages such challenges.

This nomination is on behalf of a patient who asked me to put Jo forward. The patient informs me that Jo is always keep to get patients involved in activities and events. Jo always takes part and encourages others to do so. Jo organises events and helps keep up everyone’s spirits.
I have personally watched Mariam work endless hours, come in on her days off, to create the culture we have today at Kirkside Lodge. One which is now founded on truth, integrity, passion, trust and grace for one another.
The teams are united in her cause and vision, and the service users are living full independent, happy lives.
George showed support with a service user and their family. He took a call from a family member in distress because their loved one had phoned them, then spent time supporting them. He stayed late, phoning family back to support them. Informing them of how the service user was. Then further supported by meeting them on a visit the next day.
Janine is a very bubbly upbeat staff member who is always positive and happy to be at work. Despite have a medical situation and requiring emergency surgery, Janine was keen and couldn’t wait to get back to work. The home felt very empty without her there and her bubbly personality.
