Peter has been a fantastic support to his colleagues on others ward as part of his role as OSCAR. He often covers the OSCAR role to support other nurses on the acute/ PICU services to support them with the challenges of their wards.
Peter is quick to act to support his colleagues even outside of his own ward.
Louise always goes above and beyond in her role as Support Worker, but recently made a residents day with her Birthday surprises that she had organised. Louise had spent time talking and listening to the resident to ensure that she had the Birthday that she had wanted, Louise tailored her Birthday to exactly what the resident had requested.

Lindsay is a new starter with no previous experience of working in care. She as shown real growth in her role despite facing challenging behaviours which at times can be daunting. Lindsay as persevered and continues to learn & develop, accepting feedback openly to aid her growth & never giving up on trying to be the best support worker she can be.
Yulanda is such a positive supportive person to work with on Pixie ward and in education. She is alway fun and enthuastic and so encouraging of the young people in her care. We had a tennis session in the courtyard and the young people involved experienced her contagious laugh and passion for fun and getting involved. A real asset to Cygnet!
Ola has been a superstar keeping one of our young people who has slow processing speed and is non verbal engaged with education. The young person had been unable to engage with his science learning since admission but with the support of Ola, 1-1 he was able to engage with written and drawing work linked to the moon landings for the first time.
Gary is always selflessly providing support to the service users no matter how challenging the situation is. I have often seen him patiently let the patient vent their anger and come up with the kindest supportive words to help them reflect and adapt positive behaviours. Patients often seek him out in times of distress and he never turns them away.
Lisa has really helped me to decorate the sensory room, I submitted a plan to management and Lisa has used her skill set of decorating and DIY skills and has really helped throw her weight and support around the development of the room. She has done a fantastic job and helped so much she is a credit to the pines and has so much to offer.
Yomi has been a great support to all staff and exceptional understanding with patients needs. Yomi will go that extra mile to maintain the care, support with others. And patients always remember his great smile, and laughter which brightens up the days/nights for everyone. A thoughtful team member and a great colleague to have amongst the team,
Jayne not only provides a clinical leadership she is indeed the glue that literally keeps Blackheath together. From finding out of hours dentists for International Nurses, checking in on all staff if sick or struggling, squeezing bee stings out of RMNs and ensuring everyone is fed and hydrated at all hours of the day – ensuring cake provided!
Three regular staff members called in sick for the night shift meaning the unit would be left with agency staff who do not know the residents well. Bintou agreed to stay after a day shift for the night working a 24 hour shift to ensure the needs of the residents were met
